@sharonp yes it is the one with the birds! Aparently it was made for an exhibition in London in 1997, so I am very excited to get it!

I recently bought these bowls and cups. I thought they were nice. Not sure who the makers mark represents.
@imperialfinegems There are five of each, so it's a little set.
@johnshoe These look like food service dishes, to hold any of the various small dishes that make up a Japanese meal. BTW dishes are unmatched within a place setting, but matched across place settings - so each place setting would have dishes of different colors and patterns for the various food items being served, but identical dishes would be used for each diner's sashimi, for example. The mark (which is upside down) is 西山 (western mountain) which, if Japanese, would be Nishiyama or Seizan. But, haha, I just took a look at some bowls we use for noodles, which I think are Korean-made, and the mark 西海 (western sea) looks very similar. So, your bowls are clearly made for the Japanese table, but the manufacture could possibly be Korean, as well.

@jg1133 A little late to this discussion, but I wanted to chime in, these are beautiful pieces of porcelain, created as works of art rather than utilitarian objects. The artist of all three is Zhai Xiaoxiang 翟筱翔, born in 1944; there's quite a bit of information on him on the internet. Congratulations!

Here's one I just picked up. It's clearly on the new side of things. However, I don't know if this is tomorrow's antique or just modern made cheapo stuff.
