Today I bought this vase. Simply listed as famille vert vase. I think it is possible Yongzheng. At first I thought Duagong period.
Any thoughts on this one? It's 22cm high and in good condition with no cracks or repair.

A good find. I’m no Yongzheng expert so this is just my opinion: It’s definitely not famille verte but looks like from the time when they started working with the thick dark pink overglaze enamels. Still a bit awkward looking on larger areas like the gown but very typical on the flower on the table. Could you take a closeup of the lady? The picture doesn’t enlarge well.

I most certainly will provide you/others with close-ups when I receive it. I only just bought it today from a auction house in Sydney (I am in Melbourne). I paid $1000 aud for it. I think it's a good buy. Especially if it's yongzheng period. Good size also.
Probably won't be for about a week or so. Depending on whether I organize a courier or they post it.

These are the other faces.
An interesting piece. The lack of outlining (in parts) and the black mark on the base are quite distinctive. Was there something on here about the use of black? I seem to recall something.
I can see why you think it may be Yongzheng, but I am not sure. I need to look up those aspects that I mentioned.
I shall have to look up the mark, too.
I have found a reliable example of what I meant by the partial lack of outlines on a Yongzheng piece. Obviously that can be copied, but at least it is established as a decorative style in that period, but some of the colours may be a bit off on yours. I refer to the men's blue and pinkish clothing. The woman seems more convincing. Wonder what Birgit will think of the face.

Can't find the mark, but the left side I think says "precious collection".
Mark very nice vase. I’m going to hold off until you get better pictures. But I’m leaning to your original dating. I see the enameling that is making you swing toward earlier dating it does have Yongzheng attributes. Curious what’s on the base Kiln ash maybe?
The faces look good to me. Compare the lady: nose, mouth, black eyebrows, color of hair, form of face. But let's wait for better pictures.

Four character mark may be interpreted as reading:-
‘Tan zhai zhen cang’
which can be interpreted as:-
‘Calm studio precious collection’.
I would defer to George fora definitive translation ...

better pictures are needed but... maybe. There are good chances that it is a Yongzheng period vase.
Dear Julia, the black lines are faded in the places where they are not covered by an enamel. That's normal.

Thanks Giovanni, I was just pointing it out not suggesting it was dubious - sorry if it came over that way. 😊 I was pretty sure I had seen that effect before on Yongzheng pieces, but needed to find a piece that showed it.
Mark the more I compare your vase enamel with known Yongzheng examples the better it looks.
