So I went to an estate sale with a friend not intending to buy anything, yet the door opened and I was greeted with this Giant 18" charger that I could tell wasn't 20th century but past that I have no idea as its japanese. Hoping my knowledge friends can guide me on what I've gotten myself into. Once I saw this piece I gobbled up many more without knowing what I got.

Small 5" dish I had no idea at all on so I bought it to find out as it cost nearly nothing.

A very nice haul, I love the 5 inch dish. I don't think it is Japanese, probably Chinese, possibly Vietnamese. It has a resemblance to some Tek Sing patterns, but I think it is older. I could be wrong. Someone else will know better.
The rest are clearly Japanese, but if no one responds about them, I will have a better look later on a big screen.

There's not a clunker in the bunch. All really nice, good to quite high quality, probably all 19th century. Â Congrats!
The ten-sided dish is probably Kyoto.Â

@julia I think the one that looks like cream ground with blue design looks like a Shih Tzu dog, maybe a a Llasha Apso, if you turn it a quarter turn, you can't unsee it. It does look Vietnamese.

I have been trying to find a similar one but can't. I wondered if it was Seto but it doesn't look right. If it were, I would be trying to beat John to that one at least! 😉Â
I agree with Todd, I think they are all 19th c, too. Still not sure about the origin of the little dish, it looks more Japanese on this big screen, but it is still my favourite.

Great learning about some of these pieces, I really appreciate everyone taking the time to tell me what I have. I really know very very little about Japanese wares exception being woodcut prints. I'm glad I overbought as I didn't want any FOMO and those really inexpensive pieces have been fun learning too! Which is the oldest age wise of the group you think? I hope I can find a new home for them once I have learned about them all. That charger is pretty amazing to keep but I don't know where I'd put it. Â

 This one is probably the oldest and best.  Very early 19th or even late 18th would be my guess.  With the possible exception of the small Vietnamese-looking one, which I can't reliably date.Â

My first impression of the small dish was Kitchen Qing. Like thisÂ
But the body doesn’t look like it. So it’s probably Vietnamese blue and white 14-16th century. I looked into some books and the closest example I found is this though it’s iron brownÂ
Unfortunately even old Vietnamese pieces have little value unless they are stunning vases or chargers. So it might not be worth much but it’s old and charming.Â
