Bla bla bla bla, still endless bla bla bla but never a bit of evidence proving that your crap things are real, of course evidnetly because you know that ti is not possible and you are not honest, who knows for which reason. Are you the sales manager of a (extremely low grade) fake industry?
Still waiting for Peter.
Giovanni
I am convinced that Richard is Sy from the Goteborg forum ?
Hmmm.... I don't know. SY at least was showing something a bit resembling to the original ones, like the pieces on the Elim "museum".
Instead, what he is showing here is the lowest grade of trash that can be bought on ebay for almost nothing.
Giovanni
He isn't Sy; I am certain he is Richard, check out YouTube and FaceBook.
Besides, Richard's interests seem to lie in a different era to Sy's and isn't Sy connected to the Elim Museum that John has mentioned elsewhere?
I am sure if Richard were Sy, he would have had something to say regarding the comments directed at that so-called museum. ?
Julia
Oh wow I wasn't aware of the Youtube channel
Is he trying to give this guy a run for his money? ?
This isn't looking too kosher to say the least...
I would be very interested to hear Peters opinion on all of this ?
Thanks to Julia I too did a quick search on Youtube. I found a video that did not surprise me, I was almost expecting it from a guy like him. He is the kind of guys who believe that the Egyptian pyramids has been built by extraterrestrials, that the Maya belongs from another planet, the existence of Atlantis and such crazy things which are very typical of them.
Giovanni
Great find Julia, we couldn’t stop laughing. After browsing many vintage shops in Holland in the last days it was like meeting old friends.
Birgit
I am feeling a little guilty! ? I hadn't noticed that ceramics video. In fact, I didn't actually watch any of them, it felt intrusive even though they were up in the public domain. I only mentioned YouTube because it proves he is who he says he is and I hoped that might end that discussion. I genuinely didn't intend it to start new ones and I apologise to Richard if it does.
I don't know how you all feel, but I wonder if we need to say anything more publicly, at all? Richard may not be able to help believing what he does and he has every right to be proud of his collection. He doesn't have the right to mislead unwitting visitors, but I think enough has been said to prevent that. It would be a shame if people who have not read all the comments from Richard, were put off asking about their items.
I hope it is ok to suggest that? Our concerns were for the integrity of the forum and I guess we all have a part to play in that.
Julia
I don't really see why we shouldn't continue this discussion, or why we should assume this guy has good intentions to begin with. Is he trying to get offers for this stuff? If so it is akin to fraud. I think Peter would be interested to see this.
Ah there he is! It's pretty harmless. He seems like a really sweet guy. If he takes pride in his collection and enjoys it then I would say just leave him to it.
yeah I agree , nobody can have an honest belief in the authenticity of this stuff,
he and his father 'joseph' on youtube are waging some sort of campaign which is seeking a financial pay-off, by deceiving others.
tam
This guy has been obnoxious and potentially a fraudster. If he posts more fakes here they will be critiqued.
As I said, I couldn't watch. I just took it as some deluded guy showing off his collection. Given the location of the footage and the way the items are displayed, I can't see that anyone would take him seriously.
I think its kind of sad and I feel I may have exposed him to ridicule, which also wouldn't be good for the forum as it wouldn't make us look very approachable.
Obviously, if there is an intention to obtain money by deception, that is something different, but I don't see that there is and it is more likely that Richard might start claiming he is being libelled - he has already used that term, himself.
Sorry to go on. I won't say any more - although, I think I may have said that before. ?
Dear Julia, once again I admire your wise attitude. I agree, it is a sad case, this guy has some problem, but in no way you should feel guilty for exposing him to ridicule, he is who made everything, not you.
Anyway, I too think that we can stop speaking about him now, Peter did what was obviously needed, because he was dangerous for the newbies.
Let's go over this, on a more safe ground.
Giovanni
