Not sure this is going to work! If the pictures come out ok, please can anyone help me with the script on this old teapot, please?
It is damaged, but I am thinking of maybe putting it on ebay.

Julia: We have a forum member "jiaweihe" who is a professional translater and should be able to provide an accurate translation. Let's hope he sees your post. The large characters on the backside of the teapot seem to translate to something like: "The time for flowers has arrived, Birds come with spring songs." Followed by a cyclical date of "Ji Wei" would be either 1919 or 1979. Artist signature: "Huang Yung Ji" I'm unable to make out the other characters on the lid.
the lid says: "liu wei qing lu zai yu hu"(gosh, it's so hard to read out these running scripts, you should treat me tea haha). It's very elegant and archaic poetic line meaning: all kinds of elegant aromas of tea are within this jaded tea pot).
"liu wei' here literally means six aromas, but in chinese ideology refers to all tastes.
within the picture side, it says "wei yuanren fa" (imitation of Yuan Dynasty painting styles), as always on such kind of ROC period enammels.
and the larger characters on the other side says, "hua xiang shi dao, niao ying chun ju", meaning "it is time for the blossoming of flowers, the birds are welcoming the lines of spring".
By the way, i have a similar piece of dish, let me get a pic for u.
so the difficult part is not about translation but deciphering of running and free-style scripts.

I really appreciate the help. I thought it might be Republic and that there might be a date in the script, but I simply did not know where to start. I did try but simply had to give up, so thank you both very much. Now I know what it says, I like the teapot even more. At least if no one bids on in, I won't mind keeping it!
Thank you, also, for showing us your plate, Jiawei He: it is lovely and in much better condition than my tea pot! You cannot see all the damage from the pictures I have posted but I will make sure it is all apparent in the listing.
Now to work out, what to say and where to start the bidding from.
