This nice Plate is currently on Sale in Switzerland ,i think its really a great example of its type but the damage is a major concerne ,should i just wait for a better opportunity.

Are you buying it to resell it right away or to keep it? At any rate, I think it looks like a nice plate, and probably dated correctly although let's see what others with more experience think. The only think I see that you might call damage are the firing lines that I'm guessing are original to the piece. Otherwise it looks like it's in very good condition. I think it's a nice little plate and if it is Kangxi then I would think worth maybe more than the asking price. Though I'm curious to see what others will say.

It's a very attractive looking Kangxi period plate that is also a good size.
Whilst I am not a collector of said period (I am more into republic period) I think the price is OK. It certainly would look very nice displayed.
I agree with Johnsoe that the damage appears to be a firing flaw. This although detracts from the price it is not as severe as a crack!
These types of wares and there pricing therein are dependent on how rare the design is. I am not sure how rare or collectable this model is. Perhaps other more in tuned with said could offer some options.

@imperialfinegems When I blow it up on my screen, the hairline from the back appears to go through to the front, probably a good sign that it is visible and has not been monkeyed about with by anyone. Color looks like Wanli (Kraak), except they usually have cartouches around outside rims, in any case, looks good color? Also, how about that orange peel and those bubbles?
It is a nice plate, but as to whether you should buy it at that price, I am not sure. It depends whether it is for your collection or to sell on.
If you love it, then I think the price is OK. If you want to sell it, then I am not sure I would take the risk at that price. Is it on ebay or a site where you have to pay additional costs?
If I were selling this on, I wouldn't want to be paying that unless it were bigger. Like Mark, I am not sure how desirable this. There are better value items out there.

Yes it’s Kangxi, it’s nice and the price is ok, so the question is a more fundamental one: do you want to buy a damaged item or not. There are people who say it’s no problem to them (especially if it’s rather a firing fault or a star crack that appeared later from inner tension than a damage from bad handling). There are others who only collect items in perfect condition and would wait for another opportunity to come along. You have to decide for yourself.

There is an extensive v- or y-shaped hairline crack on the back that extends through to the front of the plate. However, it is not very evident on the front. So, if you like the plate and simply want it for display purposes, I would buy it. I think it is almost certainly a Kangxi plate and $110 is very low for such an item although I suspect that the crack lowered the price by about 80 per cent. That said plates of this type come up fairly often and I would not buy one with such an extensive hairline crack. I do have a few plates and chargers with small virtually invisible hairlines, but this crack is too extensive for my liking. This sort of decision is a personal one. If the hairline crack worries you now, you should not buy it.
