@johnshoe Thank you! I will be careful before buying any more. If i'm being honest, before every purchase i would spend quite a lot of hours researching but at the time i thought my research was good enough and i felt confident in what i was buying. I guess my research wasn't great. I have actually been looking through old forum posts and i'll continue to do so!
The feedback i have received isn't exactly what i wanted but i believe it will encourage me to learn more. I just don't understand something i've been thinking about recently, why do auction houses knowingly sell modern copies?
for example, here's a screenshot. They sold these 2 vases as 20th Century and mentioned they have a Qianlong mark. I've been very confused about this.
I've also been thinking, i'm not sure if i paid too much for the modern copies i bought. How much do you think they're worth from what you have seen in my other posts?
Would it be okay i showed you some more i bought a couple of weeks ago? The photos aren't the best as they are still on their way to me so i can't take better photos of them.
Lastly, do you know any good books i can learn from?

@clerene0141 yes it's fine to keep showing us more things. Peter actually has uploaded hundreds of books digitally on this site so you can begin by going through those one at a time. Also go online to Sotheby's, christies, and bonhams and look at their current and past auction items. Zoom in when possible and study the qualities. You can study online museum collections as well and also the online inventory of respectable dealers. Then of course if you can see any of these things in person that is great, so going to auction previews and museums and shops is a great opportunity.
@clerene0141 there is also a huge library here on the site. Look through the books and catalogs. Don’t feel discouraged you are going through what everyone does here at some point. It’s called paying tuition.
@clerene0141 another useful thing is to look at side by sides to compare fakes to authentic pieces. When you see them pictured next to one another the differences start to get more obvious even when they are subtle.
@johnshoe Thank you for the advise. i'll definitely look through the digital books. I'm not sure how to find them though, where do i click to see them? and yes museums and auction houses. Funny enough, it's only a 20 minute journey from me and the british museum, and those 3 auction houses. I don't know why i didn't think of just going there to see in person. I know where i'll be spending my free time!
@lotusblack Okay I'll do that! and yes, i'm actually not mad at all about how i bought modern copies. It was my mistake and i should have been more careful. I'll definitely learn from now on
