Hi Ibrahim, I’m no Ming expert but I wouldn’t buy any of them. They look like modern fakes to me.

Hi Ibrahim,

All these look like modern pieces.

The one with the Chenghua mark is badly written imo.

Best to leave these alone.

@sadoq95

I would say they're too good to be true.

Be careful.

@sadog95

Hi Ibrahim -

Birgit, Mark and Steve are correct, all these pieces are modern copies ...

The Xuande mark ewer with three loop handles is coping a known form, in Chinese ‘sanxi bahu’ a new shape first produced during the early Ming, Yongle period - image 1 - but the painting style and mark are completely wrong. Known examples are incredibly rare ...

The Jiajing mark jar/cover decorated in polychrome enamels is again coping known examples - images 2/3, Jiajing m/p from the Palace Museum, Gugong, Beijing - but the overall painting, enamel tone and mark writing are all wrong. Genuine examples when offered for sale obtain huge prices ...

The above faults apply to both Chenghua pieces also ..

Leave well alone ...

thank you so much, @ming1449 @imperialfinegems @shinigami you saved me a lot of time trying to figure out this by my own, I met a lot of Indonesians who are claiming they got Chinese authentic pieces from sinking ships and from excavation and relics. all of them told me the same story and that makes me suspicious, Now I see why they invented this story. It's like someone they called the boss who gives them these instructions HHh. and they are running this big scam operation. be careful Guys

@sadoq95  It's too bad there are so many desperate and/or greedy people willing to lie and cheat. For those of us able and willing to do the correct research, etc, we can avoid the rip off, but there are so many innocent others who fall prey to these crimes, and it's really a shame.
