Hey all,
A friend of mine recently purchased this online, not sure where exactly, maybe eBay or Etsy or something…. He asked my opinion. Something makes be think it’s older, such as the paste being creamy white and smooth, the glaze ends neatly… there is a luting ridge on the interior I can feel with my finger, seems to be an interesting scene with theatrical warriors. It’s nice but I just don’t know what to make of it or what to tell him.
I figure you all may know more that I can make of it.

sorry. I think he said mid 20th, I feel like I have seen on RM auctions a similar form that was 19th/20th. Just haven’t found it yet and been on the road so not at my computer.

Yes, I would have said late 19th c. However, the photos are a little unclear on my screen, so let's see what the others think
It might be another one of those empty fortress ruse designs minus the sweeper at the door, I wonder what eventually happened to that piece, it was a polychrome piece and someone found a hanging with the same theme.

A story from historical novel :" Romance of Three Kingdoms":
Huang Zhong (an aged general ) fought with Guan Yu (well known general) at outside of Changcha City. Guan Yu personal let 500 soldiers and led an attack, Huang Zhong was determined to face the battle and kill the arrogant Guan Yu. The two happily fought for a long time, the soldiers and drummers all dazzled from both sides, even the Han Xuan (the city major-on the tower) was enjoying and cheering for Huang Zhong.

I was looking around trying to find a similar scene for a while and couldn't find quite the right one. Now of course I have the scene but have yet to find a similar example....
I will try and snap a few clearer photos to post when my friend comes this weekend.

Here is the similar scene, Guan Yu is the well known one (the one with broadsword, you will find a lot porcelains with him). Huang Zhong is not in this flighting scene, he is aged and another general who uses broadsword.
