Hello, I have acquired these three bowls but I am no Asian art expert and I would like to know something more about them. Period, quality, signature, value, etc. There's no size reference in the pictures but they are very small, about 6-7 cm in diameter.
(I am aware that all three objects present chips or cracks, that's the reason why I bought them because I am a kintsugi restorer and am about to start repairing them.)

The yellow one might be Awaji? Only I am not sure about the way the inside is done, so it might not be, but probably worth checking it out.
@julia thanks, I've looked for Awaji objects and while the brightness of the colors might match I could find no match for the carved floral pattern. I'm at a loss here, don't know much about seals either.
Do you think that all them bowls are Japanese, at least?

Hi Alessandra,
I think they most likely are Japanese, I can't quite see the mark on the second blue and white bowl but if you can get a good look at it, you may be able to find it on the web somewhere. There are lots of places to check marks; a good place to start is the Gotheborg site try Arita, maybe?
When you have finished your repairs, I am sure I am not the only one who would be interested in seeing how you get on. If you ahve any more questions, please ask and I am sorry I haven't been that helpful.

@ tam, thanks, I will try and check the yamatoku hint with the help of Julia's suggestion about the Gotheborg site.
@ Watership, I love the "egg and spinach" definition and yes, there's some similarity with the ebay object. About the gold on the inside, can you point me to other objects with the same gilding? Do you know when and how it could have been made? I have to think hard about how to proceed with its restoration...
@ Julia, thanks, I will be glad to show you the result when I am done with them, but it could take a loooong time! For now, I am attaching the picture of a repair I recently completed on a modern piece.
Thanks, Alessandra, that is really lovely. One can understand why the Japanese liked these repairs: they are actually very stylish and make a virtue out of a mishap.
There is an ebay seller who does kintsugi repairs on Chinese porcelain; I think he or she is in the UK. Have you seen his/her work?

@tam18 if it is some brandon who ships from London, I've had a look at the page. He says his objects are not food safe and should not be washed with water, while items repaired with traditional technique (dried lacquer + gold) are totally food safe and washable (though you might want to avoid dishwasher). Also says he's using a "fusion of japanese and western technique" and "gold chrome" so I am not really sure to understand what he does/sells. 🙂
