I think ‘modern’ covers pieces made in the last 50 years? It’s possible for a piece to pick up a lot of age-related wear in that time?
The fermentation pots look like they’ve been overpainted in yellow?

I have to agree, the decoration, the people in the decoration, all look fairly new and not well done. Not to mention that there are scratches on the underside near the mark that I would call suspiciously artificial-looking. Either it has been heavily used for a long time or seriously artificially distressed. I would put my money on the latter.

sorry for not getting back sooner but dealing with with family problems,but like I said theses belong to
a 95year old lady that gets around better than me and I’m 68.
The vase with people in it is not mine and Miaheal the yellow vases are set in the ladie husband
office for 60 year the yellow is not heavy enamel there is a color under the yellow I painted for over 20 years so I know a little about paint.And for the mark badly done here some sold by Sotheby’s that’s badly done.These are a few I come across from top auction houses there are a lot more some are worse than these. And people ware made are not nicly painted or molded what I being looking for was what they were use for there a lot of what I call folk art made in all time period by commun folks small pottery shop that would mark there ware for a better price. One of the first things I learn in porcelain is to run your finger on the rim and to look for sharp edges to see if glazed over if it has a drip that bing who’re down with time and uses if it a large pot as these are if it hand made is there a joint putting them together they have these are a few things I look at for.This does not make these vase from qinglong period or rule them out a black light rule out modern made. I will be out of pocket for a while, thank for all the help John
It doesn't really matter how old the "lady" is, 95 only means she was born in 1924 or there abouts. What matters is when and where she bought them, which would be after she was born, which would make them (optimistically) republic or more likely later, which would fit more with how they look.
I suggest you send the pictures to Sothebys/Christies, but I'm 99% sure they will say more or less the same as people here already have.

I agree it looks as though the yellow has been applied afterwards and not by any skilled artist. I wonder if it is possible to check if that is the case? Also, the black, if that is indeed what it is, has a distinctly green look in certain lights. Or is that because some of the creatures are green?
As you can tell, my mind has gone to the idea that black was initially a created effect, could that be why there is a green tinge?

if I remember correctly, black was often achieved by overpainting a green color with dark brown. Possibly the green just shines through a bit.
As a non-English speaker I admit that I have difficulties to understand some of the posts here. I don’t know in which way the yellow pots are connected with the multicolored pot from the first post. It seems however that they were all bought in the 1960s and were probably made at this time. So rather vintage than antique. We usually call everything post 1950 modern, which might sometimes be misunderstood.

I think John showed the yellow item in the hope we might be able to tell him what it was used for, simply because he had purchased two similar items and the yellow jar was the only comparison that he had found.
I agree, post 1950 = modern.
Also, less than 100 years old = vintage.
Of course, the time will come when post 1950 = antique! ?

Sorry for the delayed response I lost my brother so I’m not thinking about this now.The yellow pear are mine they look like they were over painted at a later date, the yellow pear areporcelain the new one from the 1960 are stoneware from the research I’ve done the chinese invented the water sealpots 2000, year ago. They were made in rule part of China up too the ninth century then started making again in early to mid 20th century now these are coming back and are hard to find.this type are the best for pickling this is from the experts so a vintage pare and older one are hard to find.The yellow pare has a fant impression of a press mark without taking paint off can’t tell what it is.the foo dogs are nicely hand carved. Too bad some one repainted more than likely for the south east Asia market from my research in the 20’and 30 this was there best market at the time. Me I’m a collector history of apiece is is as interesting as the piece. That why i posted the bad painted marks you can’t judge apiece bye abad painted mark alone they in major auctions house and museums. I want to thank all for your input here John
