I'm afraid it's neither Peranakan nor a kamcheng. It looks quite modern to me. A spittoon with a lid?

I agree with Birgit, what immediately strikes me is that the colours are all jarring with each other. It looks like they used every colour they had rather than trying to create a harmonious scheme?

I agree, they are also poorly painted. The creature on the lid looks like it has sunglasses on.
It is a very strange shape. Could it be designed to transport liquid (soup?) with that curved lip to prevent excessive spillage? It must have some function as the hole looks relatively small and impractical but seems higher than the outer rim so pouring would be practical. However, in that case, wouldn't there be handles of some kind?

As I saw the additional pictures I remembered what the bowl was made for. Water was filled in the upturned rim to allow fermentation. It was a clever device, the priniciple is still used today, see a modern German example below. I'm not sure if John's pot was made for actual use or just as a decoration item.

Birgit, that is interesting. So what is in the main part? Some kind of grain?
We use it for making Sauerkraut out of cabbage, though I never used one of these pots myself. In Asia maybe they made kimchi in it. Here's how it works:

I would agree with others dating on these pieces - there modern, and the mark on the Qinglong pair is very badly written.
