Nice little cup made in a unusual lobbed lotus style/design. I think it is Japanese imari from the 20th century.

Just my initial thought when I first viewed it. I could obviously be wrong. Perhaps JRN could weigh in with a thought or two?

I would have thought it was older too. The underglaze blue is done in the Chinese Kangxi style, but it seems to be Japanese by the style of painting and other as Birgit states. I would have guessed early 19th. But I have a very hard time distinguishing between early and late 19th, so it would be just guess based mostly on that underglaze blue.

Bit of a tricky one, I'll try my best to explain why (of course as always, do your research with other examples - always helps add onto any info received here)..
And bare with my for the biblical write-up to follow:
@watership hit the nail on the head with my thoughts brushing briefly on Chinese inspired as well; I actually first saw the mark as much more resembling Kangxi style Imari, almost fused with a variant of a Fuku mark commonly found on Ko-Imari (although I do not believe that is the case anymore, but it brings up the next point..)
It gets muddled in translation as Meiji pieces often tribute Ko-Imari and Edo examples from my research, and the same for Taishō pieces, or Showa pieces after that as well.
Much how a Late Qing Famille Verte piece can be honouring a Kangxi style one, ect.
There's a certain phrase that currently escapes me.. I believe a version of "Kin Sei", translating to "respectfully made" which is usually found on script signatures with an artist's name attached, but also from what I have been told is also a general mentality of past kilns/producers tributing a prior style.
Some Meiji pieces look to be almost purely Ko-Imari/Edo by intentional design, and it's hard to distinguish them for me and many people I know; as (especially in the mid-last quarter of the 19th century) the styles have an overlay from examples I've seen - making it even, you guessed it, more tricky!
My hobbyist opinion at the moment without much research? They are Meiji; maybe earlier..
I say this because the softness of the blue, and of course the pomegranate on the inside of the cup.
Pomegranates were common on Ko-Imari pieces, and also Meiji pieces tributing them - but my example of Meiji tributes (C. 1890s-1900s. Fuku marks, unglazed wheel bottom with glazed inner-center, pomegranate) have a darker cobalt/gosu, and a bit of a more "robust" or "bold" gilt application; whereas the blue on these examples in the forum is very soft and reminiscent of older Meiji ones (pre-20th century) I've come across.
Will try to find some online bookmarks I saved later if possible.. and sorry for the lengthy write up.
I'm sure it added more questions than answers, but frankly is that not part of the fun learning about this type of stuff? Got to love a fun puzzle like this when able to..

Regardless of age, it is a beautiful example my friend 🙂 such well maintained condition, and that lower rim featuring the Ko-Imari style (also Qing during same time period from what I've seen on some examples?) rounds makes it very desirable imo!

Thank you very much for the fantastic information. I should mention that the cup is part of a group of eight cups. Seven of the cups have the pomegranate motif on the inside and one has a different flower motif. I thought that was interesting. Of course, it could have been a much bigger group originally. I really appreciate the biblical write-up my friend. Thank you!
