Welcome to the forum! I am not going to be able to help very much, but I don't recognise these pieces as Chinese or Japanese. I could be wrong. The blue one looks a bit like a tea caddy or maybe it held water like a pilgrim's flask.
Do you have any photos of their bases? Can you tell us where you have seen them? I mean the country as it may give a clue.

Welcome to the forum. The pitcher looks similar to rosemaling decoration, but appears more Italian than Norwegian, maybe it is from the Appenines or maybe they are both Portuguese. I can certainly see how the blue and white Delft look of the second could remind you of an Asian piece. Maybe someone will know for sure. Best, Sharon
@julia hi julia thank you for responding, I live in Morocco and I found these two pieces in an antique shop, I thought they were chinese but after your comments I think they might be Moroccan or from Europe! I still did't purchase them so It's too much to go back to the shop owner and ask him to take pictures for the bases! I was like hopping to sell those at an auction house hh but let's wait for better opportunities.

I can't advise you on these items but in general if you are buying for resale be sure you know what you're buying (easier said than done, I know!). If, on the other hand, you are buying to collect, my philosophy is that if you really love a piece it's hard to go wrong.

and it has exactly what you said, one key element Mr Peter didn't mention is how you are supposed to start collecting for the love of collecting while you are struggling financially, I think the good road for someone like me is to start investing in good pieces, and when I have the money then I can start collecting what I really love!

I would also add that if you don't mind restored plates or items you can get high quality ones for usually a fraction of the price. Of course, they would only be for display, but if they're repaired well I think they are well worth it.
As an example, I recently picked up this rather large Kangxi plate (10.5 inches) that had been broken but nicely repaired for $120.00 (it's being shipped now). If it had been in perfect condition it would have cost much more. It will look good over my stove.

Welcome to this great site.
As your relatively new to collecting asian antiques I can offer you the following advice.
Buy reference books on the period or subject matter you have interest in etc. Like for example I have interest in republican period porcelain and jade carvings. Concentrate on the period you have interest in rather than trying to cover the while area. Other area of porcelain/other you can slowly go over later on. It will come to you naturally.
Visit museums. Handle as much as you can from reputable auction house like sotheby's etc.
Finally Peter has many videos on various periods. Both genuine and fake are covered extensively.
Hope this helps. And good luck in the future of collecting. At least you now have friends here who can help you on your journey.
