Yes your correct. It's a interpretation of a dream stone
It's in my opinion a later example. Post 1960's. The inscription is poorly done with a modern drill.
Unless it's very cheap and you like it for decorative purposes then I would not buy this!

@imperialfinegems Thanks for the assessment! I'd like to learn how to tell the difference between the marks with the use of drills vs made by hand. Are you able to explain how you can tell the difference or maybe show some other examples? Thanks! John

When you see minute chipping on the sides of the calligraphy indicates the use of a very high speed small drill.
°Double lines within the calligraphy/carving,
°°Swirling lines within the calligraphy,
°°°Missed or missing lines or where the drill has jumped. This is probably the most evident within a carving. Both with calligraphy but more so within the carving itself.
Of course one would need the trusty loupe.
Unfortunately at the moment I can't provide much on images. I do have my own reference (hand-written) but I can't find said since I moved a few month ago.
I do have a few references (books). I will see if there is much in there etc.
Identifying modern drilling can be very difficult to ascertain. Especially when after carving they use a high speed polishing tools that can eliminate a number of the above indicators. The only exception being the skipped or broken lines. However must examine the whole piece rather than just looking at one area.
Along with said above one must carefully examine the whole item and compare with known examples. It's important to examine (by hand) known examples as well as copies etc.
