I got the plate. I'm fairly convinced it's kangxi.. It's very well painted. I've taken some photos of the iridescence and some details of the flowers. There are plenty of Kangxi plates with a similar rendering of the flowers:

That is good it arrived safely. I am looking forward to hearing what our experts think now. I still need to be convinced; so many little things niggle me - as much as anything, for a famille verte plate, it seems overwhelmingly red.
Was the line around the central decoration originally gilded? It may be the light reflecting again.

your new pictures are telling me that I was way off. The red is not that of the period, absolutely not. Seeing in particular the phoenix and the birds, those are not painted by a “Kangxi” hand.
I am sorry but I have been wrong. I must say that initially I found off the flowers on the back, but stupid me, I didn’t give so much importance to them; my fault.

@julia Niggle is another word I had not heard of before. You continue to expand my horizons.
@thomasumjohnson I’m hoping not to pile upon what I thought was a fairly unanimous consensus that the plate is not Kangxi.
The plate is late Qing.
Do you understand why this is evident? If so, that’s great.. we all learn this way.
If not, what is keeping you from reaching this point?
@greeno107 Thanks for asking.. It's too clean? the lines too controlled? the shape. I'd be interested to know if this type of iridescence is typical of the late Qing period?
@thomasumjohnson yes, that type of iridescence is exactly why I’m confident in the age being late Qing. The nail in the coffin sort of speak.
I’m sure you’ve heard the expression, unable to see the forest for the trees. This seems to be what’s going on.
Set aside the technical rules about how age is determined. Focus instead on the overall artistry… it is not Kangxi in manner.
If it was more similar to genuine Kangxi, THEN we could be justified to delve into the minutiae of iridescence, porcelain color, foot rim, and such.
It's Dutch decorated to me. Porcelain itself looks Chinese for sure. Plate to me looks like 18c - if it's a late Qing - it doesn't make any sense, to keep a plate for 100 years and then to decorate in 19c.
To me - it is Dutch decorated or ?
