Wang Bu is copied like crazy. His porcelain brings record prices.
I am not the one to comment on the authenticity or the age of this but when I first saw the image I was intrigued by the quality of the shading. To me it looked like modern stippling technique but could not expand the image to spot the dots with out it getting pixelated. Judging by other comments it would seem to have caught the eye of others. I can see some over shading brush strokes but nothing that would create such perfect fade to the shading. The Wang Bu example as perfect as it is still shows signs of progressive brush strokes to create the shading, also he also uses diminishing dots to help create the shading. Just my thoughts.

@yinchris Thanks, Yin, That's super useful. Now the picture is much clearer. It's either a copy of Wang Bu, or it's an original. I think due to the huge gap in the prices for his pieces that have been attributed to him, that he has been copied many times, as Brian says, and it's likely a copy, but it would be interesting to see if it's possible to work out exactly what it is. There is always a remote chance that it is an original. But remote indeed. I guess the first step is to work out if it is printed or painted, I'm of the opinion that it is painted, but I will get a loupe and have a closer look.. however I think there might be screen printing processes that don't show up any dots..
@ronm Thanks Ron, I know of the stippling technique and I have used it, but there are other ways to erase bush marks. One method is to use a fine badger air brush or even a make up brush and feather away the brush marks. Here's one of my paintings (oil on canvass, not painted on porcelain), but there are no brush marks, I used a soft brush to feather them away...
But there are other Wang Bu works which have sold for a lot more than the one posted from Bonhams. They seem to go from around 400- 500 dollars or $1000 dollars, then up to around half a million, usually eclipsing the estimate by a factor 10.

In these example's there don't seem to be any brush marks. I think the bonhams version is a copy.
The plaque is definitely not by Wang Bu. Although the styling is similar the seal and calligraphy style is different.
For what it's worth. The four or so plaques offered as attributes from bonhams were also clearly not by him.
Here is a genuine example from Simon Kwan book on republican period porcelain. Note the distinctive style of his calligraphy. Both the angle and the thickness.

@thomasumjohnson I’m very confident your plaque is not by the hand of Wang Bu It’s just not there. But you have to remember Wang Bu was very popular and well known family history. Because your plaque is not Wang Bu doesn’t mean it’s not Republic or hand painted. Many local shop produced plaques that would sell to tourists or clients on a budget they made what would sell. We do the same in America today. The Chinese like to call these tributes. As for brush strokes if there are none on the calligraphy it’s not hand done.
After looking at some other examples, I'm pretty sure this is hand painted and not transferware..
