@brettm Thank you for the book reference - I think your right.
I have Shiwan figural pieces… they all look so old, but many are just modern copies.
I guess my theory of this vase being 17th c. is in part based on my belief that the 19th c. label would not likely have been put on a contemporary piece (one made in the 19th c.)

Here’s one that has similar glaze sold by Christie’s, but no attribution of age.
Found very little in my reference works on Shiwan kilns except for a moulded prunus vase (like you had already posted) in the San Francisco Asian Arts Collection. However, I do have a small meiping that looks to be Shiwan type that was purchased years ago with some other small items from a fellow collector. It had come from an old New York dealer (E&J Frankel) who dated it to the Ming Dynasty. It has small crackle throughout the creamy glaze and a recessed base that is fairly deep for it’s small size (4 1/4”). This item is far outside my area of knowledge so I don’t have a clue if it is really that old.

Sorry it took a while to respond, my harddrive from my old paintings that have sold is nowhere to be found. Here is a photo of a label which I know the collection date on the piece is 1804, note the stylized border, I think I will stretch my range on your label to the first half of the 19th century. And I will add that I think looking at the 17th century examples of deep feet, I think you are narrowing it down well.
