That's perfectly all right mate. I'm just adding a link to another thread online where I showed the 18/19 century jun-type meiping I talked about. I try to restrict myself to show only images already floating on the the internet or that can be seen in the still active listings.

I read a little bit in that forum. Your Jun meiping is modern. Just from the shape I can tell you it's definitly modern. You can't find any similar one in the museum.
The brush washer is an old piece from 18th C. typical flambé glaze. I have similar one.

This Forum really needs moderators. Where are they?Huey and Clayandbrush - I dont understand your posts here. They don't contribute and they are personal and biased. It's unprofessional. It seems there is expertise to be shared but where is it? It does not show in your posts here. I'd like to see and read your expertise, read on china art, not on your personal opinions of a fellow forum member. If these post are trying to devalue Corey as a collector or his items then it is very wrong and misguided. If it is trying to disrupt constructive dialogue in the forum then that's also wrong.
If you want to see an example of a perfectly pro and useful comment see Xin's, and Shinigami's, or just about anyone else's. Learned, impartial, useful to everyone, simple and to the point and not remotely personal nor derogatory, no attitude, why should there be?As it is, what seems like a joke is the kneejerk reaction from Clayandbrush to anything Corey shares. That prejudice is often based in misinterpreting and wrong info, as Mark demonstrates here too. The goading is unprofessional too. Surely, Corey will submit to the auction houses if and when appropriate and not when anybody says so. No one here has anything to prove, including Corey. That is not what it is about.
Corey's posts are a lot more professional that this. He is impeccable in his manners througout in the forum, his posts and commenst are not about others, but always about the art being shown. He also simply shares of his collection and his experiences, and he shows the basis of any judgements he makes. Also quite beautiful and inspiring posts, they pose good questions and make me go and look up more on this Art. These posts give a lot and the forum comments around it are always knowledgeable. They are really interesting but they are often disrupted with some negativity.
From the negative posts, i get nothing.
I really think addresing this is a job for the forum moderators, so we can all use the forum for sharing common interests instead of any personal comments.
BTW - Clayandbrush, you may be happy to know - you previously reccommended a book, it has arrived in the post from amazon recently, and it is indeed quite good,- lots of colour!. Thanks for that.
Huey- It is clear when you posted the photos it was unintentional and out of genuine interest, but then everything further and everyone else posting on the photos is also not right. If there were moderators they should have checked on it, It is not your job, nor coreys to fix that. It is a simple thing to fix if there were moderators here. It is also not my job, i'd really like to see the forum work well for the right purposes and for that it needs moderators, and good posts.

I am convinced this guy is Corey’s second account lol. Looging in to defense his gamble on buying fakes in hope they turn into real, authentic pieces ???
Huey your conviction lets you down. I am protecting you and this forum, in case you dont see that.
Corey and Xin thanks for posts. I had been looking at some library books a few days ago, 'Oriental Ceramics', found these two Jars and i see here you post a similar thing i think the asianart sancai jar.
What made me notice these jars is that the patterns looked so very African to me.
Here's photos from the book. They are a "T'ang Glazed Globular Jar with designs of green and white medalions", from the National Museum Tokyo. And a "T'ang glazed globular jar with dappled decorations", from a private collection.
Lovely stuff. Thanks for the posts.

Corey likes to go to his "library" too. And you know everything he said in every of his posts since the fake Ming vase he bought for $600. Coincident much? 🙂
Nixe, what is the point of posting that sancai jar from Sotheby's? It doesn't compare in style, quality or value. The one I showed is very, very high quality and potentially much more valuable. This is the jar I would like to compare it to myself in terms of size, shape, glaze and decoration with the medallions.
The same jar was sold at Christie's in 2003 for $50,000 and also later Nagel. I'm very happy that Xin likes it but I know fully well that there is no guarentee for authenticity. I'll have it TL-tested.
Corey - and everyone, of course - the link was more for Heuy's benefit. She seemed interested in sancai wares. No it does not compare.

The art of calligraphy - and for the ancient Chinese it certainly was an art - aimed to demonstrate superior control and skill using brush and ink. Calligraphy established itself as one of the major Chinese art forms during the Han dynasty (206 BCE - 220 CE), and for two millennia after, all educated men were expected to be proficient at it.
