Hello Bill and Alan: Yes I think ignoring her items and not including anything from her on bidamount.com in the future is the best we can hope to achieve. Since this item sold at the eBay auction for $80 I very much doubt that eBay are going to worry about fraud. Indeed, this seller probably lost on the item if she paid at the upper end of the auction estimate (about 80 GBP) with a 20% fee and a service charge. That in itself is a form of justice.
Errol
Dear Bill and Errol,
Just to let you both know, I've written to Peter a few minutes ago to suggest that he consider blocking ecliptic_art completely from bidamount.com, and have referred him to the discussion under this thread so that he can satisfy himself as to what's been going on.
Yes, a form of justice, Errol, and I'm delighted to see it, but in the case of other items, ecliptic_art will doubtless get away with it; evidently has been getting away with it, otherwise she wouldn't still be offering items from this 'important large collection' if she wasn't turning a tidy profit (even if not in the case of the reincarnated caddy).
Her collection must be very large, endless, indeed, judging by all the items from it she's listed so far. Maybe she's competing with Augustus the Strong. I think he had something in excess of 35,000 pieces, if I remember correctly.
Regards,
Alan
Hello to all ,
Going forward ecliptic_art will be no longer on the site.
For a while the seller had a few decent things, but alas, seems to have gone "to the dark side". While they do have some authentic things, they intersperse them with the dubious as well.
It's terribly annoying when they do that, but as we all know they aren't the first, nor will they be the last.
Best Peter
Peter
?Well that is great news. She sold two Samson vases for only £1 so swings and roundabouts.
Dear Peter,
Many thanks for doing this. Not only will it deprive this seller of an endorsement she in no way merits, it will also redound to the credit and credibility of bidamount.com generally, because you'll be seen to have been proactive in purging a proven fraudster from its web pages.
Best wishes,
Alan
Dear Alan and Bill:
Kudos to you both too for drawing everyone's attention to this. It's a small victory, but one well worth working for!
Errol
Thank you, Peter!
-Bill
I am just wondering if anyone else has concerns about this piece? This seller has been on bidamount before and still is, I believe.
Huey:
This celadon vase that the seller describes as 18th or 19th century (See eBay link) is from the same seller. What do you think the chances are that it is 18th or even 19th century?
Regards,
Errol
Hi Huey, I see what you mean about the blue and white pot. It doesn’t seem convincing to me either, not even for 19th century Kangxi revival. The faces don’t seem hand painted but rather stenciled, as they are not drawn in a line but in pieces. I might be wrong, but I personally wouldn’t buy this.
It might have been better to start a new thread for this item, now we have the discussion added to an already long thread.

Wow. Yeah. This one is a good example, too. I will post a new topic on this seller. Thanks for the link.
