Not really Asian art but I thought I would share with you a rather unusual and expensive fountain pen.
Made by Visconti and a tribute to the Chinese forbidden City palace. Made from 18ct yellow gold and Red mothered pearl.
A pen that took seven years to perfect. Limited edition of 38 out of 88. Retailed for a staggering €25,000.
Unfortunately it was sold without Box or paper's.

When I was in high school in Massachusetts (1987), my biology teacher was a huge pen collector, especially pens made by local makers. One time, on a trip to the Appalachian mountains where I worked on the weekends, I stopped at a thrift store in the middle of nowhere, and they had a box with a pen in it marked, LeBoeuf). It was a rather simple black pen with a gold nib, so I didn't think much of it.
When I got back to school, I told my teacher about seeing a fountain pen called a Le Cow or Le Beef, or something (I couldn't remember the name at the moment). He laughed, but then asked, 'a Leboeuf?'
When I told him that was it, he didn't really believe me, but when I told him it was in the box with the filling instructions, his eyes nearly popped out of his head. Quite literally, he was ready to leave class for the day, and drive up with me to buy the pen... hard to believe someone could be so excited over a pen.
Anyway, I assured him that nobody would be buying the pen, and that I would buy it the next weekend on my way back from the mountains.
It cost me $5..... In return, I got half a dozen nice vintage Schaeffer pens in trade, and an A in my class. A nice deal for me.

I have had a fascination with fine pens for many year's.
I especially like the 80's Cartier Pasha and Panthere pens of which I have about 10 or so.
Unfortunately I couldn't fit them in here. So I could only show you one Panthere fountain pen from 1990.
