That is a big plate, Edward. Is that glue residue from labels on the base or has a maker's mark been rubbed off?
P.S. Saw Doucai similar boys playing and separate Doucai rooster plates on Vatican but none this large and none with both boys and roosters together. The dual shadow across the back may be from some sort of mounted hanger but yes the spotch of cream paint or rubbing in the center is worrying. It may just be grease that accumulated between the hanger and plate, maybe just needs a good soak.
I wouldn't call it either of those, Sharon, I think it is just a modern interpretation of a Chinese theme. I'd like to know what the blemish on the rear is; I have enlarged it, it isn't from labels, that and the grey lines seem to be in the crackle, too.

,,its nice to be back in your company,,the yellow mark on the back is glue, the shadows are indentations from the support rack,, i dont know much about it, Wou or Dou ,i just like it and wanted to share,, the boys ,roosters and birds seems a extra nice touch on a plate that i always use both hands on.. I hope its joy reachs many

@sharonp Indeed they are Sharon and it appears the boys are praticing throwing a purpose cut stick at a target,,,the birds above in the heavens,uuum who knows what they are doing,,it certainly does display well known as The Dish around here..the main thing is that you like it,the Ming hair cuts ,well you neva know ,but thats what got me to hpld it dear,,, it was made to enjoy, of this I am most certain Thanks for viewing
@outlaw15 To be safe maybe just use Doucai style colors as a descriptor, but I have no idea as to the age of the piece
