Curious on this piece:
It sold for $33K USD. I am assuming that the artist was the contributing factor to such a high price. I am curious I anyone can provide some insight on this? Very curious I must say! We have all seen this type of late Qing/Republic porcelain, and to be honest, I am not sure I would have found anything particularly special about this one based on the form and decoration to take it up to the tune of $33K.
I see that, unfortunately, it was not paid and is relisted at $25K as a buy it now. If it is by a well known artist worth that price, it should get scooped up. Looking to understand the high price!

Following too I was wondering if I missed something these pieces are just going crazy.
I was surprised when I saw it at 6,000. I half-assumed bidders were doing a good deed for Christmas owing to the charity link, but that seemed a bit far-fetched. I noticed it has a liner but even so it seemed a steep price.
I didn't realise it went that high. To be honest, I didn't think the decoration was a particularly good example of that style.
I have been watching auctions for last few months and I’ve notice that an item will stay at a low bid until the last 30 minutes and than explode to a high retail value. I’ve been very confused by this strategy as I feel it doesn’t change the outcome. Does any know why the auctions are silent until closing. Aren’t they just overpaying?
@lotusblack Well, they are not paying, who knows why people do the crazy things they do and then to relist it at 25k as a buy it now, when the 33k was not legitimate to begin with, "it is a puzzlement."
Am I the only one that finds the foot and base on this pot to be a bit odd? I'm not sure this even feels authentically older to me. Could this be a modern reproduction, along with a bunch of shill bidding, etc.?

Yes, there is an App you can buy eBay Bidder. You enter the highest price you’re willing to pay and it waits until the auction is almost over and “snipes” the bidding. You Buy credits and pay a Credit for each time item you bid on.
