Im headed to brroklyn this morning. Looking to acquire a new piece for my collection, but i think these are way overpriced. Is it worth it? They may fetch even more later on, but mostly i would like lasting quality. with any luck it will under sell. Any thoughts on the longevity of this cup.

I'm guessing you have spent absolutely zero seconds researching this cup?
The auction house make no age claims for this Doucai Cup and expect an estimate of $750 should tell you that it is not Yongzheng as marked to base.
So ask yourself 'what am I actually buying ?'

I have found nothing on this particular cup on the .0 seconds you so kindly allow me for, though i have looked much on doucai in general, which may or not apply to this one.

The auction house are making no false claims,in fact they are making no claims.
You would have to provide more info listing it on Ebay. First what category would you list it under ?
Auction houses don't have to add any details. Chinese Doucai Cup tells you nothing.
By the way,it is an attractive piece.

The chinese antique ceramic market is loaded with fakes, most of it is easy to recognize (like your cup). Study the quality of authentic pieces and you'll spot most low quality fakes at first sight.

For sure place is awash with fakes and reproductions.
But some are not so bad quality. In this case the fat ceramic, bright colours and mismatched mark, etc, is all things i actually rather like, on a not period piece. But although it is too pricey for what it is, i think it is nicely made and i think the interest in chinese ceramics is driving even your normal run of the mill pieces prices up whether moonlighting or not.
No only antiques have value even if the most quality of all of course.
Looking at the colours would you guys say this cup is really double-fired, or not, do you see both under and over glaze on it. ? I see the pale blue outline as underglaze and the contrast bright red and green on top. The little yellow clouds look faded which i also like.
