Dear all,
Bought this bowl as a learning project. As you you can tell, it’s been badly glued together, I am thinking to unglue it and restore it myself, have you done something like this? What do you use and what is the procedure like? suggestions? Any comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.

The vast majority of glues will readily dissolve by soaking in acetone. Acetone is very volatile, so put it in a sealed container for the soak, or the acetone will evaporate away. The glue will probably start to soften within minutes. Within a few hours, the piece will fall apart, or be easily pulled apart with gentle pressure.
Acetone will not hurt this porcelain in any way.

Or you try the simplest way first. Immerse it in a pot of water and heat it slowly. Many glued items fall apart or can be carefully drawn apart then. You can then use acetone to remove the remaining glue on the shards. If it doesn’t work there’s nothing lost and you can still proceed to the use of acetone.

Thanks Charles, Birgit and John for your suggestions. John, how/ what do you use to put this guy back together? since it's a figurine, you only be able to work from outside then?
I was also interested what bonding agent or glue would work well. My thought is this case is a bottom to top one.

If the edges are clean, and there are no missing pieces, I just use cyanoacrylate glue ("super glue"). If there are missing pieces, I fill in the holes with a two-part moldable white epoxy putty, which can be sanded smooth, or simply wiped smooth with acetone. And then you have to paint it to match the glaze and enamels, unless you are ok with leaving the repair obvious. It is hard to do really well, and my success has been limited to say the least!

@yinchris The putty sounds okay, just don't do anything that can't be reversed with soaking in water.
