@lotusblack Oh....I think I'd sit by the sidelines and officiate. I've got a few more scores to make before I'm 'retired', but I think I'd have more fun seeing all of you budding Asian enthusiasts running around looking high and low for 'lost treasures'.

they have been a couple of British tv, show’s base on what you’re tAlking about.One show pitted the top antique dealer against one another. I can’t remember the names of the shows I don’t know if they are still on. Good luck to you on your tv adventure me I’m going to keep hunting the junk store my advice to the members who are only looking to resell is to go to Sotheby buy now home decor and see what they are asking for there md 20th century Chinese pieces. 6 teams of 2-3 people start out with $5,000 each. They have 4 months to grow their money by buying and selling Asian antiques. The team with the highest earnings (cash and value of items purchased not yet sold) wins.
The competition will document the trials and tribulations, the successes and failures, and can be narrated by experts who point discuss history and key points of authentication along the way.
Since the competitors will be selling using Ebay and various other auctions houses, galleries, and private sales, you might be able to get sponsorship from them.
I think this is a brilliant idea. As you might have noticed nealry every reality show, from Storage wars to Antique hunters to Bear Grylls simply create the impression of realism but in reality it is all planned out and the high value items are planted to be found in storage wars for example. With Bear Grylls spending the night in a plush hotel when the camera's are not rolling and he is meant to be sleeping in a sheep carcass on the side of a mountain.
It is easier to cretae the impression that everyone was given $5000 dollars, etc, this can be done but generally needs the presenter to accompany each contestant.
Greeno, You for example have very interesting adventures. So let's say you get a Canon 80D Camera. It is waterproof, sealed camera, wont let you down, and attach a Rode mic to camera, and or have a pair of sennhiser wireless mic's.
Then we work out a narrative structure we want to follow and incorporating your idea. We could have you record your adventures from start to finish. However the actual $5000 starting money and the competition time, and race to win could be included in the narrative but it wont be real. To actually make a show like that ( which is never real anyways) you need an on set location where all the contestant and presenter are working on the same location.
I will sit down and try work out a synopsis that might work. Another problem with doing this using different footage from different camera's is Frame rate's might be different, colour and quality will al be different but most of that can handled in editing.
The first challenge of course, is setting a format. The united states using a NTSC i.e interlaced and Europe uses Pal i.e Phase alternating.These color encoding systems for analog televisions, primarily used in the days before digital broadcasting was common. Pal uses a refresh rate of 50Hz and displays 25 FPS ( frames per second) NTSC uses a refresh rate of 60hz and 30FPS ( technically it is 59.0?? hz and 29.0?? Fps).
All movie films are shot at 24 FPS.
Then you have interlace versus progressive scan for video and this is really what you have to decide before filming. You have different Hertz and frame rates, and in order for this show to be broadcast, you need the footage to be of a very specific format pre determined by the broadcaster. USa still uses Interlaced and europe still uses Pal
So we would have to agree a format that will be used when filming.
1080i versus 1080p
HD versus 2k and or 4k.
4k is not deasible because it requires a high quaity camera and more importantly the data storage required for 1 hour of 4k is enormous compared to HD or 2k.
Then a narrative structure and synopsis.

It is not hard at all. In films they even make storyboards, and sketch out each frame of the film. All the camera man has to do is shoot each frame of the storyboard in that order. Say we all set our cameras to 1080i HD. Then follow a script and narrtive structure and have a storyboard to make it easier.
Then all the footage goes to the editor who will enhance, and add sound. ADR any missing or broken dialouge, and add music and effects. Footprints and other foley effects. They will cut the film into a coherent story, adjust colour, and generally polish it up.
Editor does all the work. Camera man jus got to shootfootage, Some B roll. Sound is not important. Editor can introduce voice over, music ADR dialouge and foley effects.

No film you ever watch will be the actual voice of the actor speaking, none of the sound will be the acutal sound. The film is shot almost silently. Yes they speak when they are acting but they do not use the recording. Instead they get each actor in each scene into an ADR room, and play the film back to the actor and have the actor speak his lines again in sync with the film, this wil be the voice recording and the sound editor will then compress that sound it depending on genre.
So when you see an actor speaking in a film while standing on a boat, the words he is speaking and you hear are from a later recording in an ADR room and then overlayed onto the film. Whatever noise that acor made in reall life while standing on that boat whetehr it was speaking or the rustling of his clothes is discarded and foley create the rustlig of his clothes and footsteps and ADR is where the voice is recorded over the film for each and every actor.
They keep some ambient noise but not much.
