The above is one example. There were many such in the sale. I did a random check. Found an exactly same brush pot is selling in local market. I think we need to be very careful about this auction house.
I do think it is interesting wording in the statement regarding provenance, acquired by the third generation of the family in 1995, that could infer that he required it from the collection of the family but it could also be a statement that someone's grandchild acquired it from some market (similar to the one you mention) while he was shopping to fill his college dorm in 1995 and thought it would serve as a stylish beer mug. As always, let the buyer beware, it looks a nice brush-pot to me. Sharon
BTW, I just happened to do such random check. There are many such style items being sold by Galerie Zacke. If I don't happen to get the images from the local market, I would probably never be aware of Galerie Zacke selling such fake items. There are many being sold. Galerie Zacke doubled confirmed it is 19th item.
Hello All
I hope that my recent purchase from Galerie Zacke may also be authentic. I struggle to be able to distinguish genuine bronze items. I have been wanting to add an ancient bronze belt hook to my small collection and really liked the look of this piece. I am not concerned with the loss of some of the silver decoration.
I have seen a Han dynasty belt hook in the Beijing Palace Museum collection that has a similar simple shape of the head to this chilong and so I feel fairly confident with my piece, but perhaps other members may know better than I do.
Kind regards,
Jeremy
Zacke offers authentic pieces but they are often mixed with problematic items like the brushpot mentioned above. It isn't kangxi nor late-qing/republic, it is a brand new replica made in China. The faces, overall style and overall wear/appearance are way off. Famille verte decorated pieces have been a favorite to fakers from some times now because the colors are easier to look convincing in comparison to famille rose pieces.
This problem has invaded Phoenix Arizona modern Blue and White everywhere and Famille Rose what is so surprising is the cost $750 for a replica vase
There are so many such items from Galerie Zacke. They are all listed as 19th items. I highly suspect they are all fake items. Do anyone have comments?

Hi, Jeremy.
Here is my bronze garment hook, the first thing I ever asked Peter about. He, and another expert at Sotheby's, assured me it is fake. But he also said it had an amazing, scary realistic patina. They are faking them well these days. Good luck with yours!
Charles
Hello Charles
Your hook is very impressive and certainly looks old. My hook is quite plain in comparison.
I have attached some close ups of my hook and the loss of the silver decoration seems to be due to age rather than faked, but as I would have thought that your hook was genuine perhaps my judgement is misguided. Being able to purchase my hook for the hammer price of just €280 may not be a good sign of it being authentic, but I assumed that the significant loss of the silver may have had a bearing on the price.
Kind regards,
Jeremy
I have attached some more close up photographs of my bronze hook. As I used a microscope lens on my phone they do not have much depth of field, but I hope that they show how the decoration has been lost.
Kind regards,
Jeremy

Dear Zillian i think the first of the teapots is genuine looks ok to me , also note the diffrences in the provenance .

Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by the grandfather of Mr. Holzapfel before 1970 and has been in the Holzapfel family ever since.
Grandfather Holzapfel knew what to buy 😉
I talked to Mark (Admin) about Zacke last year. I know the reputation of this auction house. My friend who is an expert for buddist art was invited by Zacke, but refused to work with them after checking their auctions. Since then I always tell people to be careful with this auction house. And I don't own any of their catalogues. They are not helpful.

Hmmm, good topic. I have always heard that Zacke was good also. And Peters rating was good. Im glad examples were posted. I guess the lesson is as always, Buyer Beware. It will definitely make me look twice before buying from them.
