I did a sale last year and sold this really cool Guangxu plate. sold it for 4.5k but I did a little price reduction to help for shipping.
I don't know why I send it to him but still I did since he looked very suspicious since day 1. The first way He tried to scam me is by the item did not arrived crap. Had to send the plate to a " friend" in New York so because his friend was going to CHINA for the new Year. Of course his friend had to sign for him so he gave up on that. After 2 months he sends me a picture that the item arrived with a hairline. In my opinion the line looked badly photoshopped but still I return an extra 800 bucks just for him to go away and don't get PayPal involved in this.
But I never notice something to the right of the plate. can you guess what it is?
this is the second time they do this to me but... but hey bought it for 8 bucks so who cares right... Lol!!
thank you for your time.
just a small expansion of the image since it is very hard to see when the forum resize image.
They glued a hair to the plate to make it look like a hairline?

@iluvatar Hi Michael
I know it's super hard to see but if you look to the right to where the hairline is, the hairline continues out of the plate like in a V shape. They have done this before but this time it caught me of guard. I end up giving up on it because I'm afraid of PayPal Since if they win the claim, you can end up losing the money and your product. Basically their whole customer Service department sucks big time.

Yeah, I noticed, I just assumed they had put a hair on it and forgot to trim the end of it, but it might just be a photoshop job. It is sad that these are the kind of people that you have to deal with sometimes in this business.

The fact that it cuts off maybe a millimeter before the edge of the bowl and then trails over past it on the right has me chuckling a bit. Plus the crack doesn't have curvature with the Bowls surface and its natural lighting isn't right with the environmental lighting. It's pasted there. I have a love/hate relationship with photoshop but I love bad photo shops more.
I would've asked for multiple photos just to waste their time a bit since it takes skill to do multiple angles of the same hairline crack properly... or, you know, they're right at the very least in that respect. This is painfully obvious that it's it's fake edit though.
Fun fact, if you take photos of before the item gets boxed and it's packaging, and a report like this goes out (Metadata is a lovely tool for the finer details bs when it's sent out shortly after); it's now the carriers issue with an insurance claim behind it.
Paypal sucks though, agreed. Great for fast payments, horrible for everything else.
@pbarski93 I feel for you. I always take about 10 extra close up photos of the item before shipping that are not posted in my Ebay listing so that such disputes can be challenged.
But, this problem is why I only ship within the USA, I always fully insure for lost mail, physical signature (not electronic), AND if they make some claim of damage or condition issue, I take it back and refund, then block them.
Easy enough to resell if the damage is not actually there, and I'd rather take the loss on shipping than discoount $800 for a bogus claim.
I’m with Tim I make a video and then video package it insure the item and if they scam me I just tell them to return it. The only way to stop them is if the scam doesn’t work.
Hi everyone,
Yes I did took a bunch of pics and video before shipping. that is what I do for every single item I had and shipped.
I take the weight of everything, even the wrapping paper. I send everything to eBay, and they agree with me, but they say he used PayPal. They know that if the used PayPal you can lose your investment in an instant.
Latest problem I have on my past say was that I shipped an Item using USPS Priority mail. It arrived to a location where mail seems to get lost all the time. they have over 10k bad reviews. Long story short, they tried to deliver my package at 8PM. No person was home, 3 times!!! try filing a claim and lost. I been paying thousands of dollars for USPS Insurance and once you try to use it they tell you that if you can't provide a store receipt, like for example, a Best Buy receipt, you will not get your insurance money back. Cool uh!! so if someone uses USPS insurance, be aware that they don't care about you filling.
Wow, sorry. I guess I'm ranting to much here...
I'm having another sale on my eBay store if you guys are interested. not as good as my past but there is some cheap stuff...
well good day all
nothing fancy, name is the same as my user name. also my insta...
