May I please ask about that phoenix vase I purchased a while back. I will find a photo as I doubt it is still on the site. I didn't know what the creatures on it were but you and Giovanni said they were a rare form of phoenix. Looking at their tails, are they the Huang style?

As mentioned to Birgit in the ‘Phoenix types’ thread, I really have not studied these Qing types in any depth ...
However, although some would imply the tail depicted appears to be a some form of ‘foliated type’, therefor inspired by/a continuation of that seen on the ‘kui’ type dragon, personally I would agree with you and say that this phoenix is a Huang (female) type ...
