Does anyone able to ID age of Blanc de Chine ? I believe they still make it and did decades or even generations + ago. It all looks the same to me. I am eager to learn.
George, I checked the Bidamount Reference Bookcase search, it did not return a book or catalogue for the specific title Blanc de Chine. If you just mean general knowledge past Wikipedia, then I would look at the sources for the Wikipedia article, apparently MMA has a handbook on the subject and other sources. You may need to go to the library. It is always best to do your own research. There may be an online source library books available through your local library, but my little local library did not have any, but they offered to get books through interlibrary loan, even ebooks through interlibrary loan for me. No big Asian ceramic reference section on the shelves for me to browse locally.

Here are the details and photos. The question is "What do I have......... especially age ?" I acquired a collection from an aunt 25 years ago and remember her bragging(nicely) about the collection as far back as 1971. It has been hard to detail each one but here are the photos I took today. I would love to learn what I have and do not care if they are worth a small amount of money !! ...but value would b o9nyeresting if one if one object is more than $100.
There is a similar looking Islamic market piece in the British Museum, I agree with Mark. You would be wise to have an expert look at these. I would have Peter look at them to make sure, it is only 15 dollars each to have him ID them. There is a catalogue of J.J. Lalley White wares in the Bidamount Reference Bookcase, just type White into the search engine.
The censer with the lion heads reminds me of a late Qing one I once had.

The quality of Blanc de Chine wares, as with all objects in any medium, can vary markedly, and each piece really needs to be seen, handled and examined closely …

The one at the British Museum with the Islamic script is "Asset number 755693001, described as an Incense Burner with cover, their example in the other photos provided is footed and has a porcelain cover, Qing Dynasty, Production date 1770-1820. Made in Dehau, Fujian Province, diameter 11.70 cm, height 9 cm with lid."
So your piece has the same style symbol on face but when looking at all the photos of their piece, there are also differences. Your piece may have had a different use and if taller, it may be a brush pot or an open censor for use with sand in the bottom to hold the incense in place.
