So I was going through estate sale listing and found this lot of items it was a pickup so I did what I was told to do call the estate sale and ask if they would ship the one item if I win the lot. She got back to me a said if you win it and pay for the shipping no problem. Well I thought it would be an easy buy but several bidder were on to me. At $375 plus commissions and shipping I now have $500 invested there were no pictures of the bottom so I was gambling. But I had enough research and books to know it was 50/50. Can you spot what I was after.

Ok it’s seems like you guys know your stuff. Yes it’s Peking. Tim it’s not marked but that ok it is still most likely Imperial and of the Kangxi or Yongzheng period I was scalded today by a major for washing it so no more washing for now. What makes this likely Kangxi / Yongzheng is the shape of the shoulders and yes the glass disease with I thought was dirty grim but it turns out that early Imperial glass had glass disease and surviving pieces will have the patina that the disease causes yes I basicly removed the patina but not all of it just some it still has it on the body. As for it is unmarked this is not uncommon for Peking I was actually told most that are marked were marked later. And would most likely made the vase later. So tell me what you think. Oh one other thing the weight and size are identical to the others in the Beijing museum.
Is it blue or black glass?
@sharonp it’s blue so I was told today that the blue tone was controlled by how thick the mouth was drilled. The court wanted a specific blue tone it’s also polished like jade is polished. They also trimmed the top of the foot to flare it out.

That darned glass disease. I have an antique stemmed wine glass with a rose-colored cup that has it. I still love it, though. (I think it might be old Murano)
My auntie had a couple of Peking vases of the same cobalt blue color but she moved last December under chaotic circumstances and I think sent a lot of her Asian antiques to Goodwill (sob sob).
