Hi everybody,
Any comments on eBay’s new app? I tried to use it this morning. It do not load the pictures properly and it only gives you two options for postage, that means that everybody in Europe has to pay the same postage as worldwide. I do not understand why they have to change something that is not broken and make it more difficult to use and it does not work properly. I went on to the eBay community site and I have read a few comments and this problem pops up straight away. Has anybody else had this problem and what do you think about it. My overall comment is that people do not like change, especially when it does not work. Regards, Qingting9

I use the iPad app for taking pictures and listing, used to be much quicker than using a computer. I listed on Thursday and it was still on the old system, went to list this morning, pictures are very slow loading and it only allows two options on the post which is ridiculous. I have just come off the phone from speaking to somebody on eBay’s selling team on the matter. It is not me, everybody is having problems. If you are using a computer it obviously will not effect you.
In the last couple of months, eBay has made a number of peculiar changes to the functionality of the site. Including changes in how postage renders not only for APPs, but when using computers as well. The biggest problem has been their integration of the PITNEY BOWES program in place of the old service which worked remarkably well and was handled internally.
I've spoken to some folks at the company about it. Evidently, they're trying to streamline certain functions as they've laid off hundreds of technical people, so have opted to in some cases oversimplify certain functions. Which of course brings into play "un-intended consequences". Fixing them will take time as they now have fewer people to handle the issues.
You are not alone with your problems regarding image rendering on the APP, APP's are only as good as the people writing them. Sadly, a fellow connected with the company told me, most of eBay's technical folks are all "B-Team" players now as the company no longer hires top tier programmers who demand higher rates of pay than eBay's current wages.
If I hear anything else, I'll share what comes to me..

Thank you for your comment Peter. My opinion is that eBay is being left behind with competition now, with what you said it explains it better to me. I think the ‘Good Old eBay’ has gone. They need to start looking after their sellers. Sad really, it used to be fantastic in the early days. I think my days are coming to an end with them. I have kept all my good contacts from eBay over the years and I do sell a bit of my good stuff outside of their site now. Let us hope they get their act back together again soon.
