@sharonp Hi I looked in the book you may be right looks very close to the mark on mine, I’m new at trying to identify these marks it is very difficult for me sorry for my slow learning I took better pictures I hope this helps. Thank you for all your help.

For some reason, I’m still not able to see the vase clearly, although the pictures of the mark seem adequate. Even with better pictures, I can only give an opinion. There are a few members here with very food expertise on this type of thing who might be able to better judge.

I am not going to be much help as I fall into neither category Todd mentions. 😀 However, for what it is worth, I think it is a piece of what is termed Kyoto satsuma (much nicer than the moriage, pastel coloured people items) as some of these had the faded-in colours that Todd refers to. I would think 1890- 1900 maybe?
As for the mark, like Sharon and Todd, it appears to me to be something ko zan but maybe the satsuma-database site ( I think it is .nl) can help. Not that I have managed to negotiate it easily, but that may be my fault.
I definitely think they are above "the average bear," and Todd, I have found it a mixed blessing getting rid of spell check, just really irritating when it kept changing marks to Mark's. They look right in design for the period that Julia suggests. If you plan to sell them, you may wish to invest the 12.00 to get them evaluated to avoid a costly mistake. Sharon
@julia Hi Julia, thank you for your help. I was thinking 1800s early 1900s also and I do believe Sharon and Mark are right as to the makers mark, after looking at a lot of makers marks. I’m just nervous to list it wrong as I do want to sell them.
