Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to review my post. I've had some trouble determining the use of this porcelain piece which is painted in great detail, maybe some of the best I've seen in person. A hat stand or cover for an oil lamp base have been suggested yet I was unable to find similar searching with those terms. The top is glazed while to foot rim is not. Any input would be greatly appreciated! 6.5" inches in height.
The faces have QL look did they do this style in 18th century?

As with Mark, welcome to the forum. That is a very nice item, it reminds me of those bedside water bottles where the top is covered by a lid like yours that serves as a cup. I don't think it is that but it seems strange to have a lid on a vase.
It is always useful to have a photo of the base but even without that I also think 19th c, possibly 1830 to 1850.
Brian, I know the type of faces you are referring to but no, this isn't from then.

Agree with Julia, first half of the 19th century. You can already see the beginning of what will become the Rose Mandarin pattern. To me it looks like a vase. No lid necessary or did I miss something on my tiny screen?

@shinigami You are not alone, as I cannot tell from the photos if I am being shown one piece or two pieces, one of them a bell shaped lid? It is pretty regardless. Sharon
Here is another picture of both the open top and open bottom (unglazed) of this piece. The photo with my hand is the bottom.
Hi Lewis, I didn’t realize it’s open on both sides. I did some googling but couldn’t find anything like it. Maybe a table bell where the clapper is lost? The lower part of a candlestick? Very mysterious.

@shinigami I apologize, I can see why that wasn't clear in the photos I posted initially. I am beginning to wonder if any brush pots were made with a set of separate bowls or a brush washer as the base it would sit on. Like a sort of combo of a brush washer and brush pot which would go together. Just a shot in the dark on my part. I've also wondered if this could be a censer with this piece as a sort of chimney directing the smoke upwards and possibly some other piece on the top which the smoke would vent through. It's a mystery to me. I appreciate the input of everyone here! Thank you all.
