Unusual item. Looks Maori in origin or least in that Pacific region.
As to age or value?
Sorry, no idea. But if old and genuine it certainly has value.

Hi Mark, Maori or pacific region, eh? Coz someone told me it's african and I have been searching under africa and had not found anything quite like this one. I'll go search for Maori wood carving for now...
btw, seller said the horns are real horns. and oh btw, the height is larger than what I thought before, it's around 5 foot or more
I’m not a master or an expert, but here’s my contribution!
I was thinking African, primarily because of the raffia hair and beard. I’ve seen this feature on African art, such as this Senufo mask from West Africa.
I think your best bet would be to investigate the materials used to make it? That may throw up some clues.
Every culture has such a character in its mythology, such as The Horned God of the Forest.
But I’ve seem ‘masks of the ancestors’ from African rituals that look similar.
I don’t know if it’s something you’re considering purchasing, but just so that you know that the conservation costs of such items over the long-term can be quite expensive, so I’ve been told.

Hi Nic, the hair from the Senufo statue look similar. But style of the face is quite different, maybe because they are different figures? Where is the second statue from?
Ahh, conservation costs! Never thought of that before. But you are right I suppose.
Yes, the faces are quite different. I didn’t mean to imply they were the same, only to give some indication as to another example of raffia hair which is common in African art.
I thought it could help you narrow/focus your search.

Is it possible to obtain better pictures would like to see if the hair is Raffia as Nic has suggested or dyed wool. The horns look like they are from a Goat or Antelope. If it is from the far south west Pacific region as Mark suggests it would date to after European settlement as there were no such mammals native to the region, but Europeans have been in the region since the 1700's so it could be quite old. I can't tell from the photo if we are looking at 3 carvings. The bottom head looks in a very different style to the top two.

Hi Michael, yes I sent the seller a message asking for more photos. In the photos which I sent initially there are 2 pieces of sculpture, one is the big mask with a figure at the top (yes, it's one piece), and the other one is the one at the bottom of the picture (the one that you said is very different in style).
Re. The hair: I see what you mean about raffia and dyed wool. We need to see better photos, you are right. I hope the seller will respond in days ahead, if not I might go there again and take better pics myself. Kindest regards, luke
