I found this piece today, I think it is from the 18th century, but the pattern is strange to me, I think it is not Chinese or export? I don't know you may have seen a similar piece (early meissen?) What do you think?

Hi Teo,
I believe you are correct. It's not Chinese in my opinion. It's also my belief that it is unfortunately not meissen ware either.
Other than that I cannot help you with either its origin nor its age. I would only be guessing.

Meissen would be marked with the swords ⚔️ except on very early pieces, and it surely isn’t one of these. I agree with Mark, probably European.

Yes I know, but I thought that maybe the earliest Meissen didn't use it, because this company was the first who started to copy the Chinese porcelains in Europe and the first pieces are very similar and I thought that they perhaps were afraid to use this mark in the earliest period and a bit familiar this pattern, I think I have already seen it somewhere, but I'm just trying to guess it:))

Early Meissen didn’t use the swords but they didn’t master underglaze blue either. They mostly copied Dehua in the beginning and then started with overglaze colors.
Old Delft is stoneware and has a lot of fritting.

An attractive piece,simply decorated.
I can’t recall seeing an 18th c Table Salt with a central division,which appears to be a more recent development.
Probably 20th c and European in manufacture.

I purchased quite a few Tettau pieces in a very similar pattern,most 19th c.
They are buried in the Garage but I think I also have a Table Salt also.

After looking at the early VOC Arita decoration that was sent to the Netherlands on the posted Ashmolean holdings, is there any chance the salt cellar could be Japanese? Just curious like our dangerous to own feline friends, does anyone ever really own a cat?
P.S. Nevermind, I was looking at Vic's example of French Faiance, not the blue and white, but I do think the French looks similar. In any case, curiosity sated.
