Is this authentic... or a late copy? artwork looks good... Pictures are not clear... Can anyone confirm? Copy of Qianlong period piece?

I think this is a later piece. Looks kind of new to me. The mark doesn't look good for the low edge of the mark isn't straight. I think that wouldn't had happened during the reign of Qianlong.
But better wait what others have to say.

I think the consensus is that the piece is a later copy... That was my thought at first too... Thank you, all!
It's hard to judge , the photos make the vase look very blurred and washed out , with watery cobalt blue, but I don't know whether this is an effect of the real vase , or the photography.
On balance I would agree it's probably new, from the base; also as someone mentioned, the mark is strangely done.

The main features of this piece aren't close to what Qianlong porcelains have.

Sold for $720 on ebay. Someone definitely thought or knew it was legit....?
Someone just 'bought' this vase , with a ridiculous description, from another seller Mr Xie for $1100.
Whether , Mr Xie will see his money or not I don't know , but he sells all fakes and does very well from it. So, sale price is not an indication of what people think or believe , more of their greed , and of a desire to believe they can make a profit sometime in the future.

We use to think that people collect these fakes and are happy with them until decades later the heirs discover that grandpa's valuable collection was all trash. But what if decades later there are other stupids that believe the story ("inherited this from my grandpa who got it from a 100 year old house estate")? It worries me that there might be a flourishing fakes market where no one really loses and I sometimes ask myself why I spend so much money investing in real things.

Yes , exactly shinigami, if enough people believe things are real , and are prepared to pay good money for fakes, then you have a market where fakes are a good investment - the sellers who sell impressive 'imperial ware' fakes always seem to do well, and get great feedback.
it's a bit like a ponzi or pyramid scheme , everyone investing and selling makes money , provided no one calls 'foul', and with the current unregulated system with ebay, and ordinary auction houses who collude in the process to maximize their seller's commission, it's hard to see it ending soon. The increasing rarity of real Chinese antiques is only going to encourage more and more fakes , of better quality , to be made .
