@lotusblack Thank you for this. I would need better photos.
Of course, even if they are hand-drawn that doesn't define the age.
@steve your right circles don’t tell the age. Here is a Christie’s Imperial vase with Yongzheng mark.
if you look at inner circle no start or end that my point. This is what made me think it’s 19th century these are what I believe are vertical file marks. And the glaze is pretty well controlled. I will change my mind on this just as soon as someone shows me a modern vase that has been filed in this manner. Julia it would take all day to explain auto corrects on phones and computers it’s all manipulation even our brains are manipulating how we view objects the only true viewing point is a negative.
image below shows file marks
@lotusblack Yes, that's a good example.
I'm not quibbling and I agree that the circles could be hand-painted, but the Christie's mark must be on a very high quality example, so the practiced, talented hand was able to make perfect circles, no? That's not usually the case with more pedestrian vases as far as I know.
Thanks for all of your observations, it's been fun and very educational! It's so interesting to learn about how the glazes were made and what time periods they were used.
I will send better images when I can, which might take a couple of days. In the mean time, I have a couple of images on my phone of two plates I have collected this past year. They have double rings on the face of the plates that are not stenciled on but have no beginning or end.
I realize this doesn't rule out the possibility that the rings are not stenciled on the vase. Just thought I undefined undefined 'd add them for comparison.
I'll try that again, I hope the images attach this time!
The blue and white plate is not out of focus, it looks that fuzzy in real life.
@clj need complete picture of the second plate but these exports for Thailand if authentic are very desirable. These are usually 18th century.
@lotusblack Here is the whole photo of the lotus plate. I have posted it here once before. I found it at a local antique mall when I was feeling sad about it being so hard to find Chinese porcelain here in Idaho.😆 It was 35.00, so I bought it, but I wasn't sure if it was fake or not because I've only been studying Chinese porcelain for a year and have no places to go to see authentic pieces to learn from. Everyone that responded on this forum was so nice to help me understand that it is authentic. I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
I thought you might know something about this little jar too. I'm pretty sure it was made for the Thai market too. I found it at a second hand shop, I think it was $10.00.
The plate is 9" and the jar is 2.5" wide, 3.5" high
Does that little jar have middle East writing on it? It’s got that feel. I remember the plate now. Keep it safe it’s a beauty.
Thanks Brian, I'll keep it safe. Any idea what it's worth?
The little jar does not have middle east writing on it. The lid looks like it has maybe Chinese between the flowers. The lid also has teeny tiny stones or glass set in the metal part. Here's a couple more photos.
@clj I have so many opinions but I don’t know what it is. It has French but I’ve seen the flowers in middle eastern pieces than the lid looks Thai. Is the lid gold? I would suggest letting Peter take a look. He likes this stuff.
The little jar is a Bencharong miniature jar from the early 19th century. Made in China for the Thai market and very collectible. I don’t know what it’s worth but surely more than you paid for it. If you want to sell it you can contact me: raggedrobin(at)freenet.de

The lotus dish is beautiful. A bargain at $35....wow!
Looks to be late Kangxi through to yongzheng period. Possibly early Qianlong.
In great condition.
And Thai miniature also looks interesting. Although I know little about them.
You have a good eye.
Mark
@lotusblack I think the lid is thin gold. I'll ask Peter, that's a good idea.
Thanks Mark and Brigit, I am learning a lot from your comments on the forum!
@shinigami, The reference you sent has good information, what book is that from?
I think I remember you posting your collection of Bencharong jars, they were beautiful. If I decide to sell the miniature pot, I'll definitely offer it to you first.
