how old do you think this moonflask is? I think early 20thC, but would like to confirm that.. thanks!
The bottom looks brand new to me. I don't think it's Republic.

I agree with Birgit that it looks new. The mark on the foot is unfamiliar. Does anyone know what that is? Also, we would need George to give one of his lovely poetic translations of the calligraphy here.

The marks on bottom says “Precious Jade.” They used this mark from 19thC all the way to 20thC. I am curious to see what the calligraphy says, too. Please help!

Yes I agree , this is new . It's strange to have the same decorative panel on both sides;
the large inscription in 4 chinese characters is a proverb which says something like ' spirit (?) lasts a thousand li'

As far as dating is concerned, I think 2015 sounds about right. The 60 year cycle is another wonderful and fascinating aspect of the enigmatic nature of things Chinese. One has three dates to choose from!

1895 or 1955 make the most sense since the owner bought it more than 20 years ago and kept it wrapped up. I was thinking 1920s due to a similar drawing and design I saw on a RPoC piece. 1895 is too much age for this piece with that pristine paste on the footrim, so I think 1955 it is...

Yeah I did not understand the writing so I was off by ~30 years, too. Still a very nice piece, not antique but very pretty and in perfect condition. The writing is icing on top - an inspiring quote! Love it. ??

I am sorry, but I also think this looks more like 2015. I take it you know the seller, well? It is not just the immaculate condition and the white glaze and the paste; I can't help feeling the handles should be better and also the outer circles are not good enough (broken in places) for the quality of the painting and verse and it is unlikely to be wear when the rest is so pristine. Moreover, one of them is off the lower edge. It is hand-painted, isn't it? I wondered if you have looked through a loupe?
I do hope it is ok to say that and sorry if it sounds like I am asking the obvious. It just looks so new, very lovely, but new.
