Bought this double gourd white jade from a retiring antique shop owner, he couldn’t remember anything about it. And I love it, it’s 8cm tall and 5cm wide. The bottom is not even, still can feel /see the carved mark at the edge. Peter mentioned a book, but I couldn’t remember the author’s name. Any stone collectors can point me to a right direction? Your input and knowledge is highly appreciated. Thank you.

A beautiful carved gaud vase you have posted.
As the it's slightly uneven is actually a very good sign that it has some decent age to it.
Unfortunately your pictures are not clear enough for me to make further comment etc. Jade sometimes can be difficult to picture.
I am not sure which book you are referring yo. There are so many. What area/country do you reside in?

Your pictures are still inconclusive. Not to worry. Taking pictures of jade can be difficult at the best of times.
You could perform a specific gravity test (seee Google) or take it to a gemologist who will tell you exactly what it is for a relatively low sum.
The book by Roger is freely available for about $35usd and well worth buying it.

@yinchris See if one is available on Abebooks, they did have one for 35.00 a few months ago. I thought about buying one because it talks about jade found in various places in the world and the one that Mark owns has a nice map of the world showing the various places it is found.
