Hello everyone,
I would like to ask for your help with this bronze piece. I believe it's an incense stick holder,/burner. The style is Ming dynasty, but I don't have experience with this type of piece to authenticate. It is 28cm high by 13cm wide. All comments are welcome.

I have one of these that is lamped. I believe it is 19th c., but it copies Chinese bronze style.
I also have a very large bronze vase that is quite similar in style, also Japanese.

Not 100% sure but I think your one Is a clever copy. The details are lacking.
I did try and find a similar one from the Ming period that I recently viewed from www.wyssemaria-art.com aka @xin_fawis
But it's no longer listed on his eBay account.
Perhaps if he pops in here he can enlighten us all.

It’s a incense holder. I think it’s from the late Ming period. This style is very popular at that time. The very rough and stylized design and casting technique suggest late Ming. Mostly this kind of stuff is made of red copper and heavy. This one has a lot of brown rust like iron oxide. I guess it could be an alloy or only iron.

Looking up close, there's iron, as far as I can see. The alloy is very interesting and looks quite rough. I have seen similar ones on the internet and they look like. A good feeling about this one. Thank you very much for your expert opinion.

@imperialfinegems Mark I must compliment your new profile picture. I was wondering if you got that plate restored yet?

I changed it or at least tried to change my profile picture a month or so ago. It's still showing up as the jade mountain on the forum. But is showing as the plate when searching members. Or am I missing something here?
No, I have not had the plate restored yet. We, here in Melbourne Australia have been in a sort of yoyo effect with lockdowns. Plus the restorer is on the other side of town.
I do hope to get it down sooner rather than later. I may be going to a viewing in about 10 days so I may drop it off then.
