I found these 3 cups and saucers in an antique store in Britain mixed with a lot of other blue and white.
I am hoping they might be Kangxi. The cups are without damage but 2 saucers sadly have hairlines and one a small chip. the cups have 8 sections that are shaped into the cup.
The colour is hard to replicate in the photos. They are very fine and light weighted.
Do you think they might be Kangxi? Any ideas about the age or value?

These look like C19th copies to me, based on the colour of the cobalt blue, and the white glazed sections which have a blueish tinge (on my monitor).
Also the way the saucer borders are decorated , and the leaf mark on the base - I think you would expect greater care and precision in real kangxi porcelain.

Thanks. They are actually quite white in the original but my camera has made them a lot bluer. 🙂

Dear Tam18, do not judge the type of blue on digital images. The potting and style of decoration here are undoubtedly Kangxi.

You're probably right Giovanni, but would they not have be molded with this decor if it were Kangxi ca 1690+- 10 yers? May be wrong but have not seen this type of cup without being molded and easily screwed in the shape along the decor.

Thanks Matt. It is hard to see from the photos but they are moulded and "screwed" as you aptly describe along the panels of design. It is very distinct but strangely hard to see in the photos.

Dear Tam18 they are moulded. It is clearly visible in the pictures, you can see the octagonal shape in the picture of the back.
BTW not all Kangxi cups of this type are molded, it is not a must for Kangxi ware.
