Hello, I got kind of lucky and found this pieces. Can anyone tell me if the Imari piece is 18th or 19th century !?
The Mun Shou yellow piece i know is 20th century, but is it very new ?

I think the yellow plate is post 1950. The scrolls seem stamped and not carefully applied, there are broken pieces in between to fill the gaps.
The imari cup looks ok for Qianlong, at least to me. I don't think Chinese imari was made in the 19th century but maybe someone knows better.

Hello Michael:
Regarding the Imari bowl, I find Imari really difficult to date. However, your bowl has a similar decoration to a pair of Imari tankards (see photographs below) that I bought from a private dealer (not on eBay) and who has great expertise and decades of experience. She was sure that the tankards are Qianlong (and possibly even Yongzengh) and, as you can see, the decoration is not very different from that of your bowl. However, the bowl's decoration is possibly a little sloppy with one of the flowers being painted beyond its edges. Your bowl, however, seems to have most of the gilt preserved on the decoration and on the rim and I find that to be a very attractive and postive feature in Imari items. I also have an Imari teapot (see photograph) that I won at auction from a British seller on eBay and that was described as being from the Kangxi period. However, I have no way of verifying that although again the decoration is similar to that of your bowl. So, in conclusion, I think you have an old bowl that probably dates to the eighteenth century.

Be careful, it's a costly, often lifelong addiction for which there is absolutely no cure!
It should not be difficult to obtain a Kangxi piece. i would suggest starting with a plate. Shangrila antiques in Amsterdam or, their other name on eBay is, the ceramics and collectibles (see Buy it Now Section of bidamount. com) have a very large collection of plates some of which are Kangxi. The owners Bob and Freek are terrific to work with and have only genuine items. You can get plates at all different prices including some from the Kangxi period.

Errol, I agree with you , they are one of the large dealers in Europe with an incredible amount of items for sale. Sometimes a bit overpriced but I was always happy with what I bought from them.

Errol, it is to late, i got the BUG :)) I have bought a piece from them and from other good sellers, I have some newsletter pieces in my collection. I am starting to refine my buying and buy only great pieces.
I find Edmund Grundner and Brian Page’s prices to be very good. Shangrila is sometimes very expensive, although they do have a great reputation and an extensive stock.
