Hey Y'all,
A neighbor of mine mentioned a few weeks ago that she and her husband had lived all over Asia from 1958-1982 (both were fairly high ranking naval officers and made many connections), and she has this collection of Jades and other items she is debating selling, but for now just wants to get a better understanding of. I thought I could possibly help, but never imagined a collection of this quantity or quality. I do not know the best way to post this, and I don't want to over load the forum with a thousand posts. So here are a mix of maybe a tenth of her collection, I haven't photographed the archaic jades, I spent two and a half hours just going over these.
Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated, however I mostly want you all to enjoy it as I got to.

Something to note, is many of these were purchased with the assistance of a member of the curatorial staff at the Taiwanese national museum, and many people have looked over parts of this over the years, but as far as I know no one has viewed it as a whole.

Hi Jeremy,
It's impossible to determine exactly what they are by way of the pictures you have posted.
However it's my opinion that you have posted a variety of agate, serpentine and possibly jades. They are modern carvings.
Are you wanting to buy these or just help your friend or neighbor and what area are they located in?

I figured most of these were 20th century and a mixture of stones, and I know my pictures are not that helpful since I shrunk them down for the forum. This is in the Washington, Dc area. At the moment I am just trying to gather a bit of info for her, and possibly help her sell some of these in the future.

If I can help you I will of course in attempting to identify her collection. Detailed pictures are paramount.
Since it's a large collection I don't want to spend hours viewing pictures/other. I will try and find someone in your area who may be able to help. Jades really need to be handled. Pictures are great but sometimes it's difficult as you probably already know. In particular modern or later jades.
Failling finding someone you or her would need to be able to engage with a gemologist (not a jeweler!). They can be found for a reasonable fee etc.
If you need any further help perhaps you could contact me directly rather than posting numerous images here. It's up to you. Maybe people here would like to see more or learn more etc etc. I don't know.

Some of the jades shown could be old imo. I would like to see some better pictures of bi-discs.
