I Picked this up last year and forgot to post it here to find out more, I think it was a good buy as the work seemed decent and I really liked the balloon on the lid.
Its about 6" tall and 5.5" in diameter, thanks as always for any help on getting a solid ID on it!!! 🙂
looks late Republican period through to the later 50's.
The decoration at the top is a little bit unusual.... often seen on later examples.
I don't think the lid is the original. But it doesn't matter.

You always find beautiful things, Peter. I tend to think it’s older, probably even Guangxu as they still seemed to have some problems with the light pink color as seen on the flower in the pot next to the blue flower. The picture doesn’t enlarge well enough for me to judge it, but if you see bubbles or impurities in the pink it might be earlier. The lid might be a marriage as Mark said.

Beautiful Guangxu period Ginger jar. I collect these style jars myself they vary in different designs depending where they were being shipped I’m wondering if this is a Straits porcelain.
I agree with Mark, too, that the lid may not be a match, the colours and shading are slightly different. I am inclined to think the jar is Guangxu, possibly early republic but maybe the lid is a bit older as the pink on the lid looks as though it has bubbled, but I can't see it has happened on the jar.

Thank you for the additional pictures. In the pink and white you can see impurities and bubbles that are sometimes found on 19th century pieces.
