Got these recently. Lovely Chinese design with the lotus flowers and such but I have no idea where they come from. The design is Chinese quite definitely but they don’t appear to be hand painted (or atleast the patterns are all identical and from a stencil of some kind) and the style of manufacture seems more like ironstone or some other British product (but they have the triple dots in the glaze from where they were fired). Purchased in middle England but quite a wealthy area so I wonder if they might be export
My question is basically Was this ever a thing from Chinese production? I have two other similar smaller plates from a time ago again with the blue glazed back and Chinese ornate design but could never put my finger on exactly what they were. I think I remember Peter mentioning something like them in a video indicating that they were Chinese but I can’t find anything similar online.

I think these were made in England. The foot looks to have glaze on it and those impressed marks aren't Chinese spur marks, they are the sort of thing one often sees on bases of English transferware.
If I am right, I would think there would be more examples. Have you tried an image search?

I agree these seem European. The Chinese have and do use printing technology but I've been under the impression that didn't start until sometime in the 20th c. Although I know that the Japanese started using transfer techniques much earlier, so I wonder if I have the wrong idea. Perhaps others will know.
I was referring to works on porcelain only. I know the Chinese did prints on paper much earlier.
Chinese transfer printing started in the 1930s as far as I know.
