I believe this is Chinese Amber glaze vase. Would like help to identify this correctly and your opinion on the age would be greatly appreciated I thought the potting was done really well.

In my opinion this is not a chinese Spitoon Vase. Looking at the shape it does not compare to chinese spitoon vases. These have rather small globular bodies and a tall neck. Also the glaze is not quite as chinese examples show.
But I think this is a vase from South East Asia. Maybe Thai (Sawankhalok) or late Khmer from Cambodia. The glaze would fit, also the shape of the Vase can be found in these region. Possibly 18th Century. 🤓👍

Is there any evidence of white slip under the amber glaze.... I am not seeing it but if not I think it is likely a rather modern copy of a Tang or Liao amber glazed vase. I have handled piece that were even buried or in the ocean for many hundreds of years and they still had evidence of the slip. Also I am not sure the shape is period accurate either, too much a baluster form... but this is not my area just an interest so I probably haven't seen a ll the shapes. The foot and sandy/oatmeal colored paste is okay for that period, so I would think a copy rather than from another time or part of Asia. It would be like seeing a Ding Kiln cut and glazed foot on a Thai piece, which would be very odd indeed.
Could you post pictures in bright light of where the glaze dips, where it ends and of the bottom? Close ups?

@jbeer2121 thanks for your great feedback here are a few more pictures if this helps this vase really has me puzzled also were the chips are in the glaze there is a glaze underneath I don't know if it's the white slip your talking I really love Chinese and Japanese antiques but it does get frustrating at times trying to decipher the fakes from the real ones but this to me looks like it has some legitimate age have a great day.

Though I am not an expert on these at all, so take this with a grain of salt... Beautiful glaze, that I like.
I still don't think the shape looks right, nor do I see any signs of slip, and the only wear is seemingly dirt staining in the crazing but not the glaze itself or the foot... Just doesn't seem right to me. These sorts of things are just hard to learn I think. I personally just buy things for the glaze, and sometimes the things turn out to be really really old.
Whether its old or newer I like it, pop some flowers in it. I remember seeing something about an orchid grown in a Tang amber jar, like a real one... kinda cool.
