Hello, sorry to bring a Canton? piece to ask about, but I’ve had a difficult time finding a border like this on Canton pieces. Makes me think I’m searching wrong or it’s newer. My thought from the base is late 19th early 20th, but the wear on it makes me think yesterday. Thoughts?
Our member Steve knows Canton and Nanking ware blue and white, hopefully he may be along, the wall is interesting and different in this rendering than the usual.
The four parts of the rim decoration look identical and the space between them isn't the same. It makes me think of a transfer print as does the inside pattern.

Hopefully these photos will help confirm transfer ware or not. Also, the end design from last flower point to last flower point is different, 5 7/8” and 6 1/16” and side pattern from end of design to end of design is 6 3/4” and 6 5/8.” Also, I pointed to the design where the pedal overlaps on one and does not on the other. And, look at the opposite petal to where my pen is pointing. One joins halfway up to the other petal and the other joins toward the bottom. Clear as mud?

Birgit is right; it's transfer. I'd say late 20th c.?
And, by the way, you can bring anything that's Asian here, no matter how humble. We love to discuss items!

I trust everyone on the transferware. On the border, are they four different transferware patterns or do they manipulate the patterns to make different leaves contact the others at different spots to make you think they’re not exact? Clearly the two pictures with my pen aren’t exactly the same. Thanks for your thoughts.
@centralpapottery Well, exact repeating patterns are one way to tell but an item can have a transfewrware decoration that has no repetitions, either.
In general, there is usually a dullness to most transfer designs: the lines tend to be somewhat blotchy and the look of the decoration clunky. The details lack verve and vibrancy.
If not too difficult, could someone post another transferware border pattern like this one?
It seems that in the 1970/80s they could sell almost everything to the West. Often in department stores. A quick browsing on Ebay shows really ugly pieces that now turn up in household clearances. From the 1990s on fakes and fancy pieces seem to have improved a bit in quality.
