It's a brave new world out there!
These pictures are terrible. No view of the interior, inside of lid or even the base. No dimensions either!
Could be a ginger or condiment container. Who knows.
Could even be Japanese from early 20th century. I really don't know based on the information/other provided by that seller etc.

Hi Todd, I think they’re not Chinese. The blue line and the decoration on the lid have a Japanese touch to me.

I think these are Chinese, but I'd be interested to know when you get them what the actual material is . Finding misdescribed and badly photographed items on ebay is probably the only way to grap a real bargain now.
From the one photo of the interior these look to be pottery rather than porcelain, something like yixing clay. Then either the enamels have been painted on the fired clay , or there is an outer layer of copper which has been enamelled. (This was done with yixing teapots and other items, eg fired inside a pewter or lacquer shell). But surely the seller would have known if the outside was metal?
The enamel painting style and effect looks very similar to C19th canton enamels on copper. Even the bright blue is found on such wares whereas you don't see it on porcelain. The crazing on the surface looks more likely to be from clay tham metal , so it could be Yixing type pottery imitating canton enamel on metal.

Mark, agreed. Terrible listing. He had a lot of items for sale...all terribly photographed and described. I actually bought five things. Maybe these two are the only good ones, not sure. Because of the low quality of the listings, I am very worried about the packaging/shipping damage. Not sure what to do about that possibility.

May as well post the other items I bought from the same seller. Here are two more...not much to go on. I thought the green bowl might be nonya straits. The white plate...no idea. The fifth and final piece... I know that is old Imari, so no reason to post.

I think the plate is not Chinese nor is it Japanese. Looks European to my eye.
