Hi everyone,
have a long day clearing a house that is literally packed from floor to ceiling with stuff, most of which (thus far) is modern.
But I did find these. I believe the coffee pot is English pearlware? Any ideas onthe age?
The ginger jar is transfer printed but is it also English?

Yes I think the ginger jar looks like an English copy of a chinese export item ; I guess it's quite old , maybe early C19th? and nice if cheap. Other I have no idea.

Hi Tam - Thanks, they both came as a job lot for which I paid very little. From my research, the coffee pot is either c.1780 or c.1880 (copy) English pearlware. Both types being copies of 18th century Chinese export porcelain. When I saw it at a distance I became a bit excited! But as I picked it up and looked underneath I quickly realised what it was.
Any further suggestions gratefully received!

The coffee pot could be Liverpool, but I know many factories were turning out this chinoiserie pearlware in the late 18th c. It is very nice. ?

I find these wares fascinating, they can tell us a lot about that moment in time when Chinese wares pretty much propelled the western ceramics industry from being fairly low-key to being a massive industry that flooded the world with affordable yet beautiful tableware.
When I look at my collection of 19th century transferware, the influence of Chinese porcelain is everywhere. I think that’s what fired my interest in Chinese ceramics.
